About Sean

A native of Southern California and graduate of Duke University in North Carolina, Sean Murphy arrived in Austin, Texas in the summer of 2000. After a brief stint in the short-lived tech boom, Sean ventured into commercial real estate and found his true passion: retail brokerage.

Sean specializes in tenant representation, site acquisition, and disposition initiatives. He combines local market knowledge, strong negotiating skill, and a creative problem-solving ability to best service his clients. Sean believes tenant representation is an intricate, complex puzzle that’s fun to solve. His desire to put his clients’ needs above all else help him build relationships that go beyond just the dollars and cents of a deal.

Sean founded CLD Realty in 2012 and actively works the central and west Texas markets. He has been ranked by the Austin Business Journal as one of Austin’s “Heavy Hitters” as well as received honors from CoStar as one of Austin’s “Power Brokers.” He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a CCIM Candidate.

In what remains of his spare time, Sean volunteers with the Westlake TOP Soccer program for children with special needs. He plays volleyball and is involved with the Duke University of Austin Alumni Association. Sean enjoys traveling the world including recent visits to Iceland, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Italy. But what he loves most is spending time with his wife, daughter, and Dexter the Goldendoodle.
