About Kelly

Kelly R. Arnold graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1974. After a two year career in the Canadian Professional Football League, he moved to Austin and began a ten year career in Politics. His professional experience was in the Texas Senate where he was elected to three terms as the Senate Sergeant at Arms. It was during his first term that Kelly gained national attention as the lead person in locating and returning to the Senate 12 wayward Senators. This group became known as “The Killer Bees”.

Seeking a new challenge, Kelly took a position with Schlotzsky’s Inc., where for eighteen years he led the Development Team. In this capacity he learned the key aspects of retail site selection and the importance of initial decision-making to the long term success of the business. During his tenure with Schlotzsky’s, Kelly selected over 300 shopping center sites and developed over 125 freestanding buildings from the ground-up. In the fall of 2007, Kelly elected to pursue real estate brokerage and joined Quick & Company. Eight successful years later, Kelly joins CLD Realty bringing his attention to detail, keen site selection, and complete knowledge of construction and facility maintenance.

Kelly specializes in Tenant Representation, Project Leasing, Construction Project Management and Property Management. Kelly has worked with local clients as well as national brands such as Starbucks Coffee Company, Dollar General, The Learning Center Day Care, Verizon Wireless and several national branded hotel developers.

Kelly is a member of the International Council Shopping Centers, Austin Board of Realtors, SMU Alumni Association, SMU Letterman’s Association and the SMU Mustang Club.
